New and Old Delhi

Full day guided tour of the city, taking in the major sights of Old & New Delhi. Sights include the Jama Masjid Mosque commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, builder of the Taj Mahal. It is located in Chandani Chowk, Delhi's oldest and busiest market where you will enjoy a rickshaw ride. Other attractions include the Red Fort, as well as Qutab Minar tower and the Tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in New Delhi, where you will see buildings befitting the modern day capital city of India.

 

Agra

Early this morning transfer to the station for the Gatimaan Express train to Agra (90 mins). (Or you could also drive to Agra after a comfortable breakfast). On arrival you will be transferred to The Oberoi Amarvilas for 1 night check in before your private guided tour. The guide will either come and meet you at your hotel or a meeting point. You will explore some of the best architectural wonders of the Mughal's period including Sikandra, the mausoleum of the greatest Mughal Emperor, Akbar.

Agra to Jaipur

This morning there is an optional extra early morning sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. Later this morning drive to Jaipur (a five hour journey). En route you will visit Fatehpur Sikri the deserted city of Akbar, a world heritage site before continuing to Jaipur, arriving late this afternoon. Spend the rest of your day at leisure. You will spend three nights in Jaipur at the Oberoi Rajvilas

Today you will take a guided tour of Jaipur including visits to the Maharaja’s City Palace, the Amber Fort and the Jantar Mantar astronomical Observatory as well as the other major sights of the city. Your afternoon is at your leisure to relax or shop in the markets.

A day at leisure. Simply spoil yourself at the spa in Rajvilas, take a walking tour with your own personal shopper guide in the busy streets of Jaipur or you could even enjoy an elephant safari at Dera Amer followed by dinner. Or simply whizz through the busy roads if Jaipur in your own private vintage car.

 

Shimla

Today you proceed on to experience the Indian Summers at Shimla. Fly to Chandigarh via Delhi on an internal flight and drive to Shimla. Shimla is approximately 100 km (62 mi) from Chandigarh, the nearest major city, and 365 km (227 mi) from New Delhi, the national capital. Stay at the Oberoi Wildflower Hall for three nights.

Shimla formerly known as Simla, is the capital city of Himachal Pradesh. In 1864, Shimla was declared the summer capital of the British Raj in India. A popular tourist destination, Shimla is often referred to as the "Queen of Hills," a term coined by the British. Located in the north-west Himalayas at an average altitude of 2,205 metres (7,234 ft), the city of Shimla, draped in forests of pine, rhododendron, and oak, experiences pleasant summers and cold, snowy winters.

You can enjoy the day at leisure or you can enjoy plenty of different experiences, a visit to the Mall, Christ Church, Naldhera Golf Course. Highly recommend a colonial heritage walk around the old and new city as it has a lot of British Raj history around. Or simply enjoy a wonderful spa treatment at the Wildflower Hall.

Today after breakfast you will drive to Chandigarh for your flight to Mumbai. Fly to Mumbai on a direct flight and stay at The Oberoi Mumbai for two nights.
