The lodge is made up of two separate camps, North and South Camp, each made up of 15 spacious Tented Suites, promising 180-degree views of the Great Rift Valley from every one of them. They are all equipped and styled the same, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows to capture the view and sumptuous features that make you feel truly spoilt during your stay . The camps share a main communal area, which includes a tempting swimming pool and Masai boutique, plus access to the many immersive activities that you can enjoy throughout the day. Embark on a game drive or walking safari, getting up close to the amazing wildlife that inhabits the reserve, or get to know the Maasai culture by exploring nearby villages and observing traditional ceremonies. Of course, one of the ultimate Masai Mara experiences is a hot-air balloon safari, though in fact watching the balloons adorn the sky at sunrise, from the comfort of your exclusive suite, is a memorable experience in itself!

The Wellbeing Difference

A luxury food journey whilst on safari

At Angama Mara, there is no specific restaurant or bar – you can choose to dine under the shade of the trees, in your guestroom, within the Shamba (vegetable garden) or in the shared areas, and there’s something delicious to be savoured at any time of day.

Start early with a hot coffee and fresh orange juice in-room, then relish a breakfast spread of pastries, fruit and omelettes. Lunch might come in the form of a bush picnic, while afternoon tea tends to comprise things like cucumber sandwiches and fruitcakes; delicious. You can also pick your own produce from the vegetable garden and the staff will prepare you a picnic lunch with the ingredients, accompanied with freshly baked bread and a chilled bottle of wine, perhaps. For dinner, prepare for a BBQ feast awash with hearty steaks and juicy prawns, surrounded by the gentle glow of lanterns, or opt for something more private by dining on your tent deck. In-between all meals, you can help yourselves to drinks or request handmade cocktails from smiling staff – the dawa concoction (East Africa’s take on a mojito) is a particular favourite.
