This memorable journey through Cambodia provides the perfect combination of adventure and luxury. You’ll discover Cambodian culture, roaming the ancient wonders of Angkor in Siem Reap and learning about the troubling past (and thriving present) in Phnom Penh. Equally, you’ll be immersed in immense natural beauty in some of the country’s most unique hotels, from a luxury tented ‘camp’ in the jungle to a tranquil private island.

There are fantastic excursions in each city, and you’ll travel with a knowledgeable local guide to ensure that your experience is enriching and comfortable. In between, you’ll have time to relax and totally enjoy each special hotel.

Depart the UK on your flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Days 2 - 5 Siem Reap

You will be welcomed at Siem Reap airport by your local guide and transferred to Phum Baitang where you will stay for four nights. This hotel is comprised of luxurious Khmer-style house set amongst lush gardens and sprawling rice paddy fields.

Begin your time in this fascinating city with a visit to the temples of Ta Prohm, with tree trunks snaking through its ruins, as well as Banteay Srei and Angkor Thom, adorned with intricate carvings. A memorable and unique highlight is watching the sunrise over the Tonle Sap lake from your private local boat before weaving through a floating village, watching as it comes to life. You’ll have the chance to admire some of the lesser-visited 9th Century Roluos Group temples before heading to the spectacular Angkor Wat. The afternoon is an ideal time to visit as you’ll avoid much of the tourist crowds. Your third day will be spent getting off-the-beaten-track in Siem Reap’s surrounding countryside as you visit temples shrouded in jungle.

Days 6-8 Phnom Penh

The journey from Phum Baitang to Phnom Penh will take around five hours by road, travelling in the company of your guide. Arrive at the stylish Rosewood hotel, where you will be for a three-night stay. Standing at 188m, this modern property has an incredible array of facilities, as well as wonderful views out over the city, especially from the sky bar.

Your two full days in Phnom Penh will be spent getting to grips with Cambodia’s horrific past, while also exploring beyond the city’s main sites. Visit the S21 detention centre and the ‘Killing Field’ of Choeung Ek to gain an insight into the atrocities that took place during the civil war. Later, visit markets, art galleries and tour the streets on a cyclo. The following day, explore the small, sleepy island of Koh Dach by bike, an area few tourists venture out to. In the evening, embark on a tuk-tuk tour of the city, stopping for drinks at some quirky bars and dinner at a restaurant popular amongst locals.

Days 9 - 11 Shinta Mani Wild

A Shinta Mani Wild representative will transfer you from Phnom Penh into the lush Cardamom Mountains to the incredible Shinta Mani Wild, where you will be for a three-night stay. This luxury ‘camp’ sits in the heart of the Cambodia jungle, with custom designed tents perched over a flowing river and waterfalls. Each tent has been meticulously designed to invoke the feeling of what it would have been like to be on a luxury jungle safari with Jackie O.

You have the option to arrive via zip line as you fly over a waterfall and land in the bar, where you can check in with a drink in hand. During your stay, you will be able to enjoy an incredible array of complimentary customised experiences. Head out on patrol with rangers from the Wildlife Alliance who are dedicated to stopping and catching poachers and illegal loggers in the area. Perhaps spend an afternoon cruising in their custom expedition boats, kayak along the river, head out foraging with the chef before taking a cooking class or embark on a hike with a naturalist. The experiences provided here are incredibly unique and memorable. If you’re looking to unwind, the spa provides a range of treatments, or have a soak in your private outdoor bathtub facing out over the river.

Days 12 - 15 Song Saa Private Island

The journey to Song Saa begins with a three-hour drive to Sihanoukville in Cambodia’s south before boarding a speedboat taking you directly to this island paradise. You’ll spend four nights totally relaxing on the remote Song Saa Private Island, one of the country’s finest luxury destinations. Villas here are absolutely beautiful, and all have their own private pool with views out to the ocean. With plenty of activities and facilities, you can snorkel or scuba dive, kayak or paddleboard, enjoy yoga at sunrise or a rejuvenating spa treatment. Song Saa, with its ‘castaway’ style, offers a truly peaceful island retreat.
